There are two things you can do besides larger targets . The easiest is to install a SCOPE :wink:

The second is to use the old 6 o'clock hold on the bull !

Not saying that is the only way but those two have worked for me in the past !

I bought a very nice 1893 in 30-30 from Collector's Firearms in Houston about 4 years ago .

Mine is the standerd rifle configuration , 26" octagon barrel , full length mag , crescent but and made in 1906 . Anyway I paid a good bit more then that for mine !

6pt-sika do you believe the Ranch Dog bullet(323-170) will chamber in a winchester chamber or is designed for Marlins only.If it works in my Winchester i'll be the first one in line. To be honest I have never tried one in a Winchester before ! I can however say bullets sized at .323" will work...

For cast , I've used the RCBS 32-170GC and loaded it with SR4756 and a CCI200 primer ! Used this load in my 1950 vintage Marlin 336SC in 32 Special ! Winchester brass ,

CCI200 primers

Hornady and Speer 170 grain bullets .

For powders I would suggest IMR3031 and IMR4320 .

But they forgot to hit it with the Krylon flat black, od green and tan :) When we had our old deer camp on the eastern shore of Maryland it was legal to bait on private property . So we got some big old shiny galvanized garbage cans , cable , winches and broadcast feeders and made our own feeders ....

I've tried International Skeet before and although I could run a 100 straight in American skeet I doubt seriousely if I could go 100 straight at International even when I was at the top of my game ! I seem to remmember reading an article this same guy wrote about the virtues of the 32 Special in the new Hornady rubber tipped stuff !

Anyone have any thoughts on Pyrodex RS? Might I suggest that you give SR4759 and XMP5744 both a good look before you think of shooting Pyrodex ! I use XMP5744 in just about all my pre 1900 Marlin's .
