That's too bad but glad you didn't get burned. I have looked at some parkers in the past with Damascus barrel but have read conflicting opinions on whether they are safe to shoot. If you had gotten that would you have shot it?

Re: Chronographing the little .357 S&W
That's quite a fireball! I have one of those 340s as well and it will split my hide on my hand after about 6 cylinders of full house 357s. The noise is loud but not abusive. I'm a little sensitive to the concussion of a very loud blast, having a eustachian tube that is always closed. The 340 concuss...

Re: Suppressed 22LR
I bought a 22 suppressor about 10 years ago. Used it about five times and put it away. I can't even give it away. A nice bolt action with a 24 inch barrel and quiet 22 ammo will do the same thing or better than a suppressed semi auto. The sonic crack is what makes the most noise in a 22 and you will...

I was pretty active on the castboolits site for a decade. But the last few years it's gone downhill. Old knowledge members left and now it looks more like ar15.com where everyone is an expert but really doesn't know much of anything. It got me looking around for another gun website and I found this ...

You didn't mention what type of 357 ammo that you are using. But leverguns can be picky about nose shape and cartridge overall length. Since your rifle feeds 38s ok, I would suspect its an ammo issue, and not a problem with your rifle.

I also like the 32 spl, mine is a src made in 1911 and smooth as silk, have a old ideal mold that casts a bullet around 190 gr. also have a 1893 Marlin in 32-40 and they both shoot same bullet very well Brad Do you know the number of your Ideal mold? I would like to try a heavier boolit in mine too.

I've had a few 32 Winchester specials over the years but currently don't own one. Well, thats about to change as I am buying a 1894 src. For some reason I had forgotten about how "special " the 32 is with cast boolits. The 1:16 twist allows full jacketed bullet velocity with accuracy using...

Re: Starting a 'Working Gun' Collection from Scratch
First gun I would get would be a used 12 gauge pump for around $200. That would serve home defense, small game, and even deer hunting.
With the remaining $300 I would buy some different choke tubes and ammo.
