I have a revolver that was shot exclusively with BP for years and you can't tell that it has been shot enough to change the nipples twice.

It is a fantastic museum. Did you go down and see the Ticonderoga? My grandparents were several times aboard her when she was a working vessel.
As to the guns, I loved looking at the many underhammer guns. Lots with aperture sights. VERY neat.

If I got a BLR it would be to put a scope on it. I don't know, off hand, of a BLR receiver or tang sight although I'm certain that between the gun and sight adaptations could be made to get one to work.

Camillus didn't copy Buck. Camillus made many of the early Buck slipjoints. Would it be more accurate to say that Camillus copied the design they had previously made for Buck? There are design features intended to reinforce the brand identity and then to imitate that closely enough to "encoura...

We weren't short of big game ammo but 9mm ball is still in short supply, at least to us as is .22 LR, .22 WMRF, .45 ACP Ball, bullets, primers and powders. I was just by the shop and he had notice that the distributor had bullets and he was rushing to order what he needed before it was gone.

Re: 77/44's ???
The twist on my 77/44 is 1:20, as is the twist of their 96/44 - so that, perhaps more than the magazine length, could enable heavier bullets to be used. However, like many others, I've found that whitetails drop reliably and quickly with the good-old 240-grain softpoints around 1800 fps or so, so I...

AND if the firing pin isn't broken it can peen the edge of the chamber making extraction of fired cases hard to impossible. I have been told that the Ruger Single-Six (and presumably the 9s and 10s) don't allow the firing pin to strike the cylinder and are safe to dry fire but I don't do it. I recen...

Not knowing your gunsmithing limits, Id recommend using the shim under the sight and you should use a blue Locktite( so it will come apart when you want it to). I wonld use the Loctite on the shim and overall as well. Wipe off the excess. Another thread stabilizer is "Pliobond", its a rub...

I see no value to such a rear sight but such a front apertures in conjunction with your standard rear aperture would be the thing when sized correctly for use on a particular target at a particular range. That's (or was) the thing is small bore.
