That's what I was wondering, if I could just shorten the mag tube from the rear. Also, my front sight is the ramp style and wouldn't it be easier to deal with. Don't they just screw on instead of using a dove tail? I am really wanting to try this.

I agree with the 870 as being the shotgun. Another gun to consider is the Marlin model 60 22lr. The wild hogs are everywhere here in East Texas. The hunt is 'on' around here every saturday mornin. Dogs, radios, tracking collars, gps', everything that you can think of. Killed 5 this past saturday and all was over 200 lbs.

Hey guys, I went back by the outdoor store and took another look at the gun and it said 'Model 93' on the top tang. Under the lever its serial number was 645x. My safe is a Liberty and the barrel landing is not adjustable with the middle divider that is in it. I don't think that it will sit on boxes of 22mag bullets very well also.

I like to take mine out and wipe them down about every 2 months or so. I will spend all of my Sunday afternoon after Church going over them and just checking 'em out real good. My wife thinks I'm a little crazy doing it, but I enjoy it.

For me, it has to have a straight grip and a full length mag tube. It just don't look right, to me, without it. Just a personal preference. A buddy of mine has the 26" version and it is 'long'. Too much for me.

I have one just like it and I think it is a great little gun. Shot a little high at first so I took the rear elevator out and is alot better. Mine has some rust on it also. Just a 'truck' gun. I won it in high school back in '83. Things have really changed.
