I have been using www.tru-cast.com bullets. The service is incredible. Every time I order, the bullets show up in a couple of days. Shipping is by flat rate box, so it is very reasonable as well. I have nothing but good to say about Mr. Dunn and his bullets.

I picked up my 105 year old L.C. Smith damascus double a few years back at a gun show here in Albany, OR. It was one of the first guns I saw as I came in. I was instantly drawn to the beautiful damascus pattern and the faded case colored action, and lifted the price tag out of curiosity. I could not...

I couldn't hit anything with mine, and decided it was mostly the front sight that was the problem. I just wacked it off and made a barrel band with dovetail for it. Now I can hit pretty well with it. My favorite load is 300 grain LBT cast from Lyman #2 alloy, over 22 grains of H110. You can just fee...

Before I built my own 375, a friend let me shoot his new model 70 .375 with the heavy magnum load. I fired three of the 300 grain heavy magnums, and one of them split the neck. I already had the dies and components, so I loaded up some hornady 270 grainers. I could feel the difference in recoil, but...

+1 for the Leupold 2.5 fixed power. Mine is mounted in Leupold QR rings (I had to make the bases as I used an Enfield action for this rifle). I have fired over 200 rounds through my .375, and no problems with scope or mounts.

That's a beautiful rifle. Someday we're going to have to get together so I can handle your '71's. I've never shot one. Maybe I have something that you'd like to try. How about .375 H&H, or 25-20? Or a Ruger .45 Colt loaded heavy?

Here's a post 64. For what it's worth, I paid $340.00 for all you see here. Rifle, 2 mags (full) two boxes of .308 (full) a soft case, 2 slings, and the Redfield scope. You just don't find deals like that every day. Needless to say, I couldn't get there fast enough. This Gent had an add in the local...

I have had very good luck with the RL series of powders. My favorite .375 H&H load is in your other thread on the .375. RL powders have been the most accurate I have tried in at least 4 different rifles/calibers that I shoot including: .375 H&H, .375 Win., .444 Marlin, and 45-70.

I use one, it works just fine. I picked it up at the junk store for $1.00. I throw them in, then hit them with an acetylene torch and scoop out the steel clips. I have been meaning to buy a turkey fryer when they are on sale. The burner would be plenty big, and cheaper to fuel than my torch.

I don't think you would harm the iron moulds. The melting point of aluminum is too close to silver, I wouldn't try it. Back to the iron, just take a look at an old tractor pulling hard at night, the iron exhaust manifold will be cherry red.
