Re: Anyone watching Hatfields and McCoys?
I am shocked by the minmal slights that started the whole thing (Devil deserting & McCoy's pig) if these be historically accurate, and how perseived slights, family "honor" kept it rolling for decades. Tit for tat could never go unanswered. Seems the McCoys (& uncle Joe Vance) were...

I always forget there is a Portland on the east side as well as the west. Why try to rob a bank sans pistol? I like the attention getting method of walking in, fire a shot in the ceiling and announce, "this is a holdup".

I'd dig em up and sell em at the salvage yard. Beer or bullet money. Fillthe hole with whatever is cheapest, even rent a compactor and tamp it in real good- no problems.

Dappled grey horse. Stirrups don't look too short to me, given where they are in relation to the horse. The rig is not a working cowhands. Nobody that uses a rope for a living would have it looking like the one hanging from the horn and no flank cinch on the saddle. That rope is more likely a stake ...

I haven't confirmed it in the history archives, but they say when Stephen F. Austin was crossing Texas and mapping out his land grant, he found a sailing ship several dozen miles inland. He figured big storms might be a regular event along the coast, so he moved his grant inland.
