Prime rib, corn, mashed taters and gravy washed down with ice cold milk at our home with just my immediate family. Slick meat sandwich's, hot corn casserole, dessert, and ice cold lemonade at two other larger family get togethers.

I carry my 4 inch 686 in a Simply Rugged Sourdough pancake holster. That's a great holster to keep things tucked in and very comfortable. It's great for carrying is is built like your GP 100. It will last!

Some would call that a great starter bike. I just say it's a great bike. Like you with your KLR650, get what ya want and ride it. Make a change it that trips yur trigger, but the most important thing is to enjoy the ride and be aware od what's around you. You can't be too careful. Have fun.

I have a Golden Boy and it is a sweetheart of a smooth rifle, BUT, the drop is too much. I have let several people shoot mine and pointed out the drop and told them to really consider that. Some have purchased the Golden Boy, another a Frontier model and others have gone looking for a 39.

I like the contoured cylinder on the GP100 and the half lugged barrel. If they'd ship it cut for moon clips that would be the perfect package. I think Ruger is chasing the S-W 686 SSR Pro with this model and they are doing a good job but I also see they are asking S-W prices too.
