Re: Old Gun Photos - Poor Gun Safety.....
I agree, Joe. Perspective, and the difference in which guns are treated nowadays, tells a different story than what our eyes tell us from the initial glance at those great old photos. Many of the "guns" are also fakes, cap pistols and BB guns. One of the last photos, the one with the buck...

Re: OT- Just got back from seeing "True Grit".
I just got back from watching the new True Grit. It was okay, certainly entertaining, but flat. The movie appeared to more a series of well acted scenes, than an movie with a story holding it together. There were three flaws I couldn't get by, one was this: it is the job of the director to present ...

Re: True Grit - Opens tomorrow.....
Just got back from seeing it. Clara and I love it. I think Hailee Steinfeld blew away the original Mattie Ross and Jeff Bridges definitely did the Rooster Cogburn character justice. I agree that Matt Damon was OK at best as Leboeuf. If you like westerns, you have to see it. Can you explain how you ...

I wont spoil it for anyone but I enjoyed it pretty good. It was filmed in TX in the winter mostly instead of Colorado therefore its more grimey and has more....well.....Grit. Dead trees with no leaves....instead of the fall Colorado. I was impressed with Jeff Bridges. After reading all of the review...

I have always been a fan of these rifles and have never owned one.
I would hope that my name can be in the hat.

I have one. No, it is not an original Winchester by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a good representation - and one heck of a lot less expensive! I haven't had any problems with it other than it kicking like a po'd mule - but that would be the same with an original too! :D Yeah, the gun d...

I just got one last week and shot it this weekend. I really like it. Only problem I had was that the 100 round box of Winchester ammo I bought for it had the alum. rim on it and every now and then it would swell and I would have to take a cleaning rod and tap it out throuth the barrel. I first thoug...

Well took her out and shot her this weekend. I love it. It def needs some breaking in or an action job. You have to throw the lever pretty hard. I bought a 100 round box of the Winchester with the low "Alum"? rim. This ammo would get stuck due to swelling in the chamber. Other ammo functio...
