H&K 770, 91 & SL7

Do any of you have one or more of these guns and if so how do you like them? I hear they are very reliable and shoot the 308 Winchester cartridge. Heavy too. Pricey too! Believe they are recoil operated. At least the 770 and SL7. If they are as heavy as the M-14 I used in the army--not interested. Don

Re: What scope for a BLR .308?

I don't think you'll care much for what I have on my BLR but I like it a lot. It's a Burris holographic sight with red dot. Not for 300 yd shooting (well for most of us) but sure keeps the gun light in weight and that red dot is a lot better than iron sights. Uses a battery and has to be turned on. ...

Thanks for so many great responses to my questions. I have read that the cartridge did not score so good in terms of being potent in battle. "Light in the britches." Think that is a popular view of our military. HP, fragile bullets would help that problem a lot. When you think of this rifl...

308 Winchester--nice compromise

I've been through a lot of guns and cartridges. For most of my life I've avoided the 30 caliber except for the 30-30. Had several guns chambered for that cartridge and one at present. Guess I tried to avoid the "commonness" of the 30-06 and 308 to some extent. Now I think I made a mistake ...
