Re: AR-10 in 260 REM

I like that caliber! Always been a fan of 6.5's. Please let us know how it shoots!
Been thinking about a model 70 I have and if I should re barrel it into one of the 6.5's... Creedmore, 260 Rem, 6.5x.284- can't make up my mind... Maybe that's why it is still sitting in the closet?

So I took it apart to do trigger job, right barrel broke about 8.7-10.0 lbs! Not consistent at all. Left barrel was nice but almost 7 lbs. I found many burrs to clean up, sear angles were good, but the worst thing I found was the right sear had a high spot where the sear pin went through to hold it ...

Exactly my point, the shooter NEEDS time behind the gun to learn it. I have been a competitive Olympic trap shooter since the late 80's. I have shot Remington 3200's, miss them, Brownings, Beretta's and Perazzi's for competition. Again 10's of thousands of rounds and I can pick up just about any sho...

So are we talking dry firing for trigger control or to relax springs? If dry fire practice, just remove FP and practice to your hearts desire. The biggest thing is the older doubles have 'poor' stock geometry, now that's not a knock against the guns, but the stocks were just not designed properly. We have gotten taller as a whole so LOP is usually short, drop at comb/heel are too much and people just don't learn to shoot the gun. My Redhea...
