Re: Comments on .356 bullets in a .357
Hobie, on average, would you say that with a 2005 1894C and heavy 200grn. cast bullets, should I order .360 size molds, bearing in mind the longer 200grn would maybe not bump up well? I was planning on getting .359 but am thinking .360 might be a better fit for the mild 1050fps loads I had in mind. ...

Re: Low noise & blast 45 Colt load
Sarge, your data on actual velocity from a 16"er is diamond! The point of the post was to get a low-blast, low noise load from someone who's done it! I've never used 231 or Trail Boss, so value your shared experiences of these powders. So far, I can't see any separation between the two, other t...

Re: Low noise & blast 45 Colt load
Thank you for your welcome!
I'll try the 231 load you recomend, Joe. Never used 231 for some reason. Next time I'm at the gunshop, I'll pick up a pound. What's your estimate of the velocity for this load from a 16" barrel?

Low noise & blast 45 Colt load
I want to find a sweet and gentle powder charge using 250 gn. cast bullets for my 45 Colt 1873 16" Trapper for training a new shooter. Noise is the big factor here, but I'd need around 600fps. Don't have chrono facilities at the moment, and manuals don't help much at this low level. I mostly us...
