You remind me of a old 2nd cousin. Monroe "Monie" Grams. His dad, my great uncle Gottlieb, used to say the sun never set on his family. There were about 10 kids. Every one of them was either a preacher, missionary or married to one. Monroe used to head up all of AOG missionary's world wide.

I have a nice old 4" Smith & Wesson M&P. I also have a 4" Colt trooper. If I want to belt carry similar I also have a 3" model 36. They are a J frame 5 shot. It usually gets the nod over the M&P or Trooper for packing in town. Lighter and less bulky. I use a pancake for it...

Technically your right he shouldn't have shot once the threat is over and they are fleeing. However, in the real world given the kid is only 13 and the evidence given I doubt most prosecutors would want to prosecute the kid as they know in a jury trial they wouldn't win.

Many years ago I was out shooting and a guy had a 94 in 45 colt and let me shoot it. They were his reloads but I never had a light rifle kick as hard! I own a Winchester 95 carbine in 30 army, a 94 and 64 in 30-30`s, a 88 in 308, a puma in 357, a browning 92 in .44 mag. I stand by what I said above....

Personally, I would get it in .357. The 357 is a sweetheart to shoot. I own both a .357 and a .44 mag in 92 clones and have also shot one in .45 colt. The .44 mag and the .45 colt are big kickers compared to the .357 and the .357 will realistically kill as well.

That Polygamist area is about 40 miles from us where the flood hit. I heard the weather warning on my truck radio. Earlier I was contemplating doing a ride in that general area but didn't go.

They can search vehicles coming in on their property, however most places like that have parking lots usually inside and outside the gates. When push comes to shove in my experience not all are fired if discovered but they probably are given stiff warnings where they wouldn't try it the second time ...
