Re: Australia - the Movie, one more thing I have to say.

I'm with Buck- you can't expect movies to be historically accurate. Its just some of the inaccuracies get under ones craw. As a movie I quite liked 'Australia'- the problem is as with often the case with big budget flicks they get your hopes up too much with adverts before you start watching it, tha...

Re: Is the Winchester wildcat really a TOZ 78?

I can understand you supporting your local firearms industry- the last part of the Australian industry became 'all American' and turned into Kimber. If you do not support local industries (and this includes your local gun shop) they will cease to exist. My difficulty with modern American products is...

Is the Winchester wildcat really a TOZ 78?

I was just looking at a russian Toz 78 in a gun shop the other day- and it bears a striking resemblance to a Winchester Wildcat- which I have only seen in magazines.

Are these guns one and the same?

Re: Single shot .30-30

I have a TC Carbine with 21 inch barrel.

Frankly I cannot think of a benefit of a 26 inch barrel in this chambering- they seem pretty close to delivering optimal power at the 20-21 inch mark.

I am sure the TC Custom shop would oblige you if you so desired- they seem quite accomodating.

For the purpose of this exercise are we mobile or in a hut, and if mobile how are we moving around?

Weight obviously plays a big part in such choice, as does the issue of re-supply of ammo.

If you plan on using it the 9410 is about as much fun as you can ever get in a gun. It is a hoot.

The Garand is an American classic- when you could get them here, I don't think anyone called them fun- too heavy for that- but the M1 carbine was and would I think shade the 9410 at the fun stakes.
