I killed 2 bears last spring in BC with a Winchester 356 and Marlin 45-70 guide gun. Both were plenty
of gun, made two good shots. I want to use some of the other 94s I have, thus want to use the 38-55 or
375, or both on Moose.

38-55 and 375 Moose guns?
Still thinking about what Winchester 94 to take moose hunting this fall. What about 38-55 or 375 ?
Has anyone taken a moose with either of these guns?

Moose Gun 444 Marlin
One gun I have considered for a Moose and large bear gun is my 444 Marlin. Has anyone had experience with the 44 on large or dangerous game ? I know Buffalo Bore makes some really stout loads for them.

My friend and I will be moose hunting this fall in BC. He wants to know if his 270 is too light for that job of killing a
large moose, or perhaps a large bear. Has anyone hunted moose with a 270?

most places have it back ordered like lots of bullets we want these days. Thanks

358 Moose Bullet
I will be hunting moose this fall in BC. Is a 200gr Hornady FTX heavy enough for a moose. I killed a bear last summer with one shot with the same bullet, of course it did not weigh as much as a moose. What do you think, do I need a heavier bullet?

I have a Winchester Low Wall 32 Long I have some 32 Long Federal ammo that loads and shoots in my 32 Long Colt pistol. What would be the approximate worth of my Winchester Single Shot 1885 Low Wall 32 Long with 25 inch octagon barrel #2, nearly perfect bluing, appears to be all original. Manufactured in 1888. The barrel is very clean, should shoot very straight. The wood is near perfect, one small chip. I can't get ...

The Winchester is a Low Wall, and the barrel is 25 inches. I have cleaned the barrel and it is in pretty
good condition. The bluing is very good. What do you think the 79 following the Oct. 7 means?
Thanks for your responses. I can't get a picture to load up, will try again.

I hunted black bear in BC this past June and took two bears. Because I am a Winchester 94 collector I wanted to take one bear with one of my model 94s. I'm bidding on an old 94 in 38-55, serial number 10,120, seems original and does have the Cody letter
stating it was build in 1895. Would that have been a black powder gun, or had they switched to
smokeless powder for the 38-55 by then?

Does that mean there were only 3,313 94s of any caliber made up until that time?
Most lists indicate many more were manufactured in 1894 than that?

Why are there several lists of manufacture dates for the Winchester 94, and they do not
agree. I have at least 3 lists and all claim to be authentic from the original records but
they are all different. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Re: Shoot me an opinion please
Some of these late 94's are very good quality, they are "junk" is usually made by people who have not had one or fired one at all. I have many 94's some old some new and some in between, there are some really good late model ones.

I was so excited to see the new Winchester model 94, and come to find out, 1) I can't get one, and 2) They are not made in the United States
Why in the world would they re-enter the 94 with a foreign model that most can't even buy, has anyone heard anything on this?
