With virtually no atmo to speak of bullet velocities should be higher and allow easier escape velocity . I guess your gun might need an oxygen tank to achieve optimum ignition. It won't go forever because there is gravity on the moon. The bullet will eventually hit the ground. (I don't know what will happen if you shoot straight up. Sales have slowed after the long glut. All the online retailers are emailing "sales" 2 or 3 times a day.
To the point where some have lost my business.

I was never a fan of the .410, simply because of the price of the shells. My cousins all had them, while I had an ancient-handed down for generations- 16 ga. I could buy twice and many shells as they could. And our most common targets were cottonmouths, and I sure liked to pound them into the ground...

Rat shot from a .22 is pretty short range. 10 or 12 feet at best. I like a 16 gauge at 3 feet for a snake. I know that 16 isn't just going to make it mad!

Hogs are not bulletproof. Hit them in the heart or lungs and they die. May run a bit, but they die.
Softpoint ammo like Core-Lokt will work, but penetration works better. Partitions, A-frame, monoliths work great.

For hunting I use Barnes Original 255 gr in .377 caliber.

For cast I have a Lyman .379 bullets but really haven't shot my Chief Crazy Horse rifle in several years....too much work and no play.
