I have tried several sizes of cast, but I am in unfamiliar territory, the sucess has been less than stellar so far.

Bore measured .310 trying to decide to either use cast bullets or getting a new bbl. Gun is to pretty to get rid of. I'm open to ideas at this point.

Yea, in reality I am pretty sore. The surgeon said to take it easy for about 10 days, I am home and walking around pretty good tho.
Gonna go to work today and see if they can find some easy work for the next week or so.

I ordered a williams 5d reciever sight for it today, couldn't bring myself to scope it. I also did not want to anger the lever gods.

small screw inside reciever that is used to hold the ejector down during cleaning. I discovered that it was turned ever so slightly,causing a hangup. no problems since.

What ammunition were you using before the Federals? My Marlin 39a Mountie is several decades old. I've never had a problem with it feeding any type of .22 short, long, or long rifle. If it killed the intended, then I wouldn't call it a 'failure'. Thousands of game animals are taken with non-expanding bullets. No matter whether the bullet expands or not, proper shot placement works. I agree with you Jim, but I use hollow points on varments purely for visual effects :twisted:Also...

Funny side note; one of the cleaning ladies told me later that she pushed the disable button on her car alarm at the same moment I pulled the trigger! I would have loved to have seen the look on her face.
