Re: Dirty Harry 44?

John Milius wrote the screenplay and has been a NRA director. Good chance he knew what a 44 Special was in the 1970s considering he wrote in a 458 win mag and a 44 Automag into his movies.

Re: Dirty Harry 44?

Yes,there were 29s used in filming. Whether there were other N frames used as stand ins I don't know. Harry did say he uses a special load in Magnum Force, but his shootout scenes certainly emphasize cartridge power. Harry also endorsed 357 but not 38 in the Enforcer. Harry also used an Automag afte...

I have never seen an issue and I have shot 38 special in 357, 44 special in 44 mag, 45 Schofield in 45 Colt, 22 cb and short in 22 lr. I suppose if you let fouling buildup it can cause issues, but your rifle has only one chamber to keep clean

Well the 6.5 Creedmoor is probably the hottest selling centerfire rifle cartridge introduced in the last fifty years. It only makes sense for Henry to chamber it in their new short action box mag rifle. I haven't used the cartridge but my thoughts are that it's a mild, efficient, fairly versatile ef...

Re: 45 Acp SAAMi 21,000 But 45 Colt only Saami 14,000,?

Short answer is yes, your revolver can handle 45 Colt loads at 21k psi just like it can with ACP loads. The manufacturer or importer is not going to say that because such ammo is not to SAMMI standards. You can do it without a failure. Not sure if you might loosen the gun up more quickly if you did ...

I think it's quite possible the pointed bullets may be making the cartridges a bit too long. It may run with flat points. Its just a guess, but the 450 seems to be pushing it size wise in the 1894. I wished I had picked up a 444 back when I saw one cheap though

No, do not use a stripper. Those are used to remove wood or metal finishes. Use a degreaser or gun cleaner. Something like carburetor cleaner will work too. More powerful than standard 45-70. No better or worse than 45-70 loads worked up for a Marlin. Since I have neither, I wouldn't sweat the difference if I were in the market for a big bore lever action. Cabelas does sell AR rifles. As far as "sanitizing" them goes, the entire shooting industry including the NRA calls them MSRs now for Modern Sporting Rifles. ARs are overrated anyway.
