Re: Single action 22's?

Have had a couple Bearcats and a bunch of Single Sixes over the years. If accuracy is important to you, you'll probably get along better with the Single Six. It's not that Bearcat isn't accurate - the two I had were quite accurate - it's just that the Bearcat's light weight, small grip and, especial...

You have to use shortened brass with the FTX bullets is right, something I hate to do for the sake of using the brass with other bullets. Also be aware that in some Marlins, the FTX bullets will not feed, properly, though the action, due to the cartridges getting off centered a bit in the mag tube w...

Given that you're in Canada, finding ammo in one of the pistol cartridges might be a challenge. Unless you are reloading, that could be a big problem for you. Depends on how they define reliability. I shot A5s and 1100s for years. Of the two, the 1100s had fewer jams as long as you kept the gun even reasonably clean. The Hornet is a great little cartridge if you don't expect bench rest accuracy out of your varmint rifle. Many owners have given up on them due to their (normally) poor accuracy compared to other varmint cartridges. If you are happy with 1 1/2 to 2" groups at 100 yards then the hornet is a ver...

Hate to say it, but if that front sight is blurry when using a receiver mounted peep, odds are it's time for a scope. A tang mounted peep MIGHT help and, then again, it might not.
