Alas, no pictures except those in my head. 1968 Chevy Nova. Started life as a small block 307. But with a "slight" boring, new cam, holley carb, edelbrock intake, headman headers, exhaust bypass, regeared tranny and posi rear, it could fairly fly. We thought we were getting something by bu...

Good heavens. At least we had beer. It might have been warm, and may have sat in the sun for days getting to us, but it was beer. Truth be told, some of my unrelated aunts, uncles and cousins have been closer than those related by blood or marriage. Kin folk are those to...

DonW, you are quite correct about the original intent for the M-16. LeMay wanted to replace the old M-1 carbines the Air Force had inherited from the Army whenthey became a separate service. For base security where they can be kept cleaned and serviced, and are generally only shot on the rifle range...

Well, tough question, but here goes. For a rifle, choosing from what I have, It would be the Springfield M1A1 Scout/Squad. In .308 Win, so it could be used for most North American "big game" (never really understood that term), and of course would be excellent for any medium to long range ...

Springfield M1A1 Scout Squad. I do not trust the AR platform. This is basically a civilianized version of the old M-14. .308 win is a heck of a lot more effective than a .223.
