I think most of the sales are lowers right now, and kits. A lot of people have figured out AR's are the leggos of the gun world. And if you already have a lower before a ban thats half the battle. then they gotta make you register or confiscate.

OS, have you tried repeating this? what I mean is, if that was a new rifle and scope, the poi shift might have been the scope moving or readjusting. I have a habit of tapping scopes after adjusting them for just that reason. Prob not your prob but its a thought.

Those dippers have a reputation for being more accurate than a powder measure. Some of the most consistent loads I've ever made were with those dippers.

I made a couple mistakes earlier, this is the article. I read that 10 years ago when I had a deluxe model 94 BB AE with the 1/12. Another member I haven't seen for awhile named tworow has/had it since then.

The Winchester 444's had several twist rates. I had a deluxe AE with the tighter twist I don't recall exactly but I think low 20,s. I think Paco wrote an article on this subject. You can find the twist by running a cleaning rod down barel, count rotations, divide barrel length by turns.

AR's have their issues, but overall, if they're lubed, they run fine. And the new coatings and treatments are mitigating most if not all of the issues prevented by lube. I think most of us came to the conclusion that shooting the .458 heavies (over 500gr) at higher velocities didn't gain anything. Out of all of those Bill, the Beowulf is the one being used the most by LE and mil with the largest selection of factory ammo, including a spire point solid. And all 3 have the same mag capacity so my preference is the larger caliber.

Very very nice, first thing I looked for was the gold trigger. I've always thought that a 4x Weaver looked just right on those. I bid on one at a Sheriffs auction many years ago but like most gun auctions I've been to, everything went at well over actual value.

Ahhh yes, another reason I liked that combo, very first rifle I ever hunted for elk with was a Marlin in .32 Special. you wouldn't know that case wasn't factory. A nice Marlin logo and Marbles fixed blade would have set it off nicely. Can I ask what the rifles sold for sold for?

Yes. And at least one of my manuals has sections labeled Springfield trapdoor levels, Marlin 1895 levels, and Ruger #1. I'm going to dig into them in the morning over coffee. I have my pet loads for 45-70 and haven't needed to use a manual for around ten years, just the Lee dippers.
