Re: Browning 1886 barrel fit?
What would be the least expensive route to make this old gun back into a shooter. It has been reblued at some point. Woods not the best. The bore is verry ruff. I have read of relined bores in smaller calibers working well. How are they in larger bores. Would I be better off getting a custom made ba...

Shorter barrel means shorter mag tube l would.like it to look factory. Is the wood interchangeable between the Japanese guns and the old? Just throwing out questions to get collective.knowledge. lt isn't ever going to be factory but I don't want it to look far from it.

Browning 1886 barrel fit?
Will a Browning 1886 barrel screw into an original Winchester action. Are the threads the same? I have an one that needs rebarreled or lined. There is one in the classifieds. Just wondering

I like mine. I fitted a 45ACP cylinder to a birdshead Vaquero, and a Old Model short barrel Ruger, then bought a 5 1/2" stainless Bisley convertable. The new flattop I have the want's for, but not the funds. On the other hand I just bought a 45Colt SS cylinder for the Bisley don't like unfluted...

Joe it always helps to tell someone. To share your loss with friends. As you said pets get to be more like a part of the family when you are around them almost 24-7. I had a Pixie-bobcat for close to 14 years. Still miss him.

A puppy in a leg trap where know one had permission to set traps. Heard him barking as I was going into the woods. Didn't take long to find him. Found him a good home. When I was running IHMSA matches we would put the 22 targets out to 200 meters. They said, John 22s can't hit out that far. Told them the Old Timers did it standing. It is just sights, windage trigger control, and a little luck. Long range big or small bore is a hoot! Thirty years latter it is more ...

I guess that I would go for a 327H&R a little longer if they make it yet. In the TC you could load hot or lite. The 32H&R may soon be a run every year or so of brass. No current guns manufactured for the round. The 32-20 in the TC last I read was .308 not .314 for a wider selection of bullet...

Well I'm happy to hear about Remington "making a 1911" just where will it be made in the new plant with the Marlins? There is also a rummer of Ruger making one. They made an AR type so who knows. Always happy to see new guns made in designs I like. Would like them made in the USA.

I ran 22 IHMSA pistol matches a Glendale Shooting Club St Louis. Mo for a time in the 1980s. I once set the extra targets on the big bore range out to 200 meters. There were lots of complaints about that being to fare away. I said it was an old sport they used to shoot standing. At the time I could ...
