Re: Consumer Warning: Do NOT Buy a New Alessi Holster !

Two former Alessi employees/apprentices, with the surnames of Ritchie and Ralston, seem to be doing quality work. Mr. Ralston, IIRC, does business as 5Shot Leather, or something like that. I have not personally seen or handled one of these. One of my ankle rigs, used on duty for a while, was a Ritch...

Re: Your choice of carry gun?

My ideal choice can differ a bit from the practical choice. Small and light-weight can be nice for concealment, but my aging right thumb, hand, and wrist cannot tolerate much muzzle flip, and how much is “much” has been changing as I age. Plus, there is much to be said for a weapon that will nicely ...

Oh, to be 45 again! At 45, folks still thought I looked to be about 35. Then, at age 47, things started falling apart, and at age 55, someone in his mid-sixties guessed my age to be 65. That hurt! Advice? Well, I wish I had not fired so many big-bore Magnums, from large-frame sixguns, too big for my...

Thanks for testing, and sharing your results. I bought a pre-owned 21” vent-rib barrel for my Benelli M2, and will be seeing how it compares with the 18.5” “tactical” barrel with iron sights, with some new loads, so it is choke-shopping time. I had actually bought my M2 pre-owned, after it had long ...

Re: Returning home !

There is something so very “perfect” about the Ruger No. 1, in my opinion. Not only is the rifle, itself, is a thing of beauty, the No. 1 stock fits me superbly. Being left-eye-dominant, I love the way a No. 1 is beautifully ambidextrous. I will admit that the iconic photo of Frederick Courtenay Sel...

I think I have it pretty well covered, except perhaps for a nice BPCR-type of rifle that I may order when I retire. The leading contenders there are Shiloh and Lone Star. If it has to be the same cartridge in each weapon, I reckon I will settle for my absolute favorite sixgun, my first GP100, early 1990s-era 4" stainless with adjustable sights, and pair it with a Rossi '92 I will borrow from my wife. Re: 357 Levergun vs 30 Carbine vs AR15 - Which for HD?

.357 lever rifle is my choice, of the three listed choices. The M1 Carbine is not a good lefty rifle, and the AR15 is just too vertical, with a non-intuitive (for me) safety lever. OTOH, a lever rifle works very well for me, and its slimness is a desirable trait. This does not mean I am stuck on lev...

Was the group size large, or was the problem with POI being different from POA? As Noah Zark indicated, finger position on the trigger is very important.
