Here's my take for what it's worth, I hunt only with a 30-30, I don't practice , or plink with it, I've taken a LOT of whitetail deer here in the East, enough so I can see the average of my most taken heart/lung shot with both weight bullets, these are all factory loads. 170 corelokts, very accurate...

I hear ya.... watched my mom wither away for almost 10 years, she didn't have alzheimers but a rare progressive "palsy", with dementia.
Seeing her like that was horrible, no quality of life, just a shell sitting in her own waste... makes you wonder what to do if it happens to you....

If your on uneven ground then that may be a good option for you. If in a shooting house with bench then the attached bipod might work better.

I keep going back to the idea that I need one, well I don't "need" one but I keep thinking I do... I was looking on the auction sites for awhile and the prices of a pre 64 was, in my mind, crazy high, for guns in mediocre condition. Then I looked at the new Winchesters made in Japan, that ...

Back when I carried a revolver, I tried speed loaders and always found them clumsy, not to mention bulky. The last combat course trainer, before the advent of the semi's, recommended plain ol flexible speed strips for reloads. Can't remember now how they were carried, probably in the pocket, but the...
