I can safely say that I have never had to have someone else re-assemble any gun I have taken apart. It may take me a while to do it, but I always get them back together. They usually work--correctly!--when I do get them together, too!

If you try using an inertial bullet puller to break down those cartridges, you may find the cores coming out and leaving the jackets in the case (guess how I know... ). It's tough to get the jackets out separately, lemme tell ya...

My sources indicate that 6.9 Bullseye is a bit hot even for a .357 Mag. I don't have the Speer manual, though. The most I see is 6.8 Bullseye for a 158-gr. bullet, and that's a max load.

Twenty years ago, Gander Mountain (or someone) was selling a .50 cal SxS caplock kit for $150. It was a closeout deal, made by CVA, if I recall. Why I didn't buy one, I'll never know...

I'd take the wood back off and see if you can put the band on and start the screw without the wood. Then try putting the band on just the wood. That way you should be able to see where the interference is.

That sounds like a pretty steep price for 158 gr. JSP bullets. They better be good! DON'T PITCH THOSE PRIMERS! They are more than likely good. Try a few and see.
EDIT: Oh, that's loaded ammo, not just bullets . I guess it's not a bad price for current ammo.

I have an Enfield No. 5 Mk.I for which I paid $50 in 1986. I couldn't get another for only $50, even if someone polishes off all collector value--which was how I got it for $50.

I bought a couple thousand primers at $15.95/K around the time of the last primer scare--when the "short-shelf-life" issue first came up. When was that, a dozen years ago? I thought I was being gouged at that time. Now $30/K ISN'T considered gouging?

That's $12.00 a pound. Not a price I would have paid when I started loading (1981). I don't know when that would have been a common price, but I don't think it was that great say 10 years ago. Or should I say 15?
