Griff, To me, the most realistic cause of this sort of thing (reduced to X number of guns) is personal finances. I have twice been reduced to just one and for just that reason. Winchester 94 Trapper in .45 Colt for my long gun. Smith & Wesson, either a Shorty 45 or my 25-2 in .45 ACP. Tough to call. I'd have to do all what needs done to the sixgun to make it concealable. Which is alot of work. The Karh PM 45 could be a contender also. That little pistol is just so hand...

Interesting article. Does give some incorrect advise though. A standard micrometer may or may not show an object is out of round, so don't depend on it to do so. Never drop a pin gauge down a barrel. The pin is hardened far in excess of the barrel and if there is a swelling the pin will strike the t...

I've never used a five inch barrel in a Commander length pistol. But probably the answer is it depends. If the five inch is one diameter for it's full length it may work. The extra 3/4 " probably won't make much difference. Large bore, low pressure rounds gain with length, but I would guess 20 ...

Nope, not prone to breakage. They look great when fitted properly. A friend of mine has an old one that he built a stock for and it is to die for. He's doing the same for one of mine right now! They are plenty strong enough to rechamber for either the .454 or the .460 Smith. Great little guns. Cat
