I didn't shoot a deer until I was 29. Had been shooting for years but had nobody to take me hunting that first time. Ended up hooking up with my youngest uncle who I never knew hunted. Anyhow, the first day of my first hunt I shot a doe with my 7mm08 BLR before 8:00 AM. I bought the gun especially b...

Don't take this the wrong way, Chief, but if you don't have The Load Book for 45-70, the Lee Manual and maybe a couple others, please do so. That way you can see some pressure tested loads and do a little intelligent extrapolating on your own....loads just thrown out there are sometimes suspect. An...

Went to the range today with my boys. I think Winchester numbered all his guns, even the Henry's. I dont know it for a fact but its what I think. I bet serial numbers came along with mass production in a big way. Colt was probably among the first. Thats a tough one to research. I bet some gunmakers numbered guns before the indust...

Most all can have quality control issues. Good thing about Marlin is they are very good about taking care of it. Rossi's feel solid because the Win 92 action its a copy of is a solid action. Dont be fooled into thinking this means theyre better guns. Many of them have issues too. Marlins 30/30s are ...

OT - S&W 39
Whats the consensus?
I bought one & will be putting some rounds thru it tomorrow. Never had a 9MM before. Handled a bunch of guns & this one felt good, looked to be in great shape & I could afford it.

I'll second John Taylor. Just got a 44/40 Marlin back from him.
Havent shot it yet, needs a fireing pin. Anyway he came highly recomended & did a great job for fair money & pretty quick turnover. Soons I get a pin from Wisners it'll go bang!

I like Paul, but he is not going to get elected, so why focus our energy on him? Thompson has a very solid chance of winning the primary. He certainly has the best understanding (outside of perhaps Paul) of the Constitution and the principles of Federalism. He is much more likely to be on the right...
