Just wanted to give you all an update on my brother in law and thank you for the thoughts and prayers. Over the last couple days there have been slight improvements in his kidney and lung functions. He is still on a ventilator and is heavily sedated most of the time, but at least there is some sign ...

I don't think you would have any problems with a 1-10. Try out this calculator and see what you come up with.

158 gr. Hornady XTP
W-W brass
15.0 gr. of Vihtavouri N-110
CCI small rifle primers (recommended by Vihtavouri)

For my 357 levergun, well, what Tycer said.

Killed a whitetail buck last season. One shot through the shoulders from about 60 paces, dropped in his tracks. 180 gr. cast bullet at 1800 fps. Bullet was cast from the LEE 358-180-RF group buy mold with wheelweights.

Those bullets have the tiny shallow tumble lube grooves. I doubt you would get any/enough lube to stick in them with a regular lubesizer. No reason they would work better in a Marlin over a Winny. I like his bullet designs, but I prefer standard lube grooves that will hold a lot of lube.

I reamed out a Marlin 30-30 to the Ackley version. It was a simple task with a Marlin lever action, just remove the bolt and ream it. You can expect to see a 100-200 fps increase in velocity. Some claim improved accuracy, I didn't really see any change in accuracy in mine. Longer case life is a plus...

A little common sense is all that's needed. Keep your casting area well ventilated. Don't cast with your head right over the pot. I keep a small desktop fan on my bench. Wash your hands before eating. I have a hard time believing there is any danger from consuming lead residue in game animals.
