Re: Best Winchester 94 production?
I currently own 3 pre-64 model 94 Winchesters, all in .30-30. In the past I have owned representatives from every decade of production. The ones I have now are from 1897, 1947 and 1962. The 1947 and 1962 guns are good, better than post 64 guns, but the 1897 gun is exceptional. It is a rifle with 26&...

Re: 300 GRAIN 375 WINCHESTERS NOW AVAILABLE
If Grizzly says that their 300 grain loads for the .375 Winchester are at 61,000 pressure wise and max pressure for the cartridge by design is 62,000, then there is very little room for improvement. To get any substantial improvement over what you already have, you would have to go to a larger cartr...

Eagles, The .375 JDJ (J. D. Jones of SSK Industries) is the .444 Marlin case necked down to .375 caliber. It is NOT the .375 Winchester cartridge and these 2 cartridges are in NO WAY interchangeable. DO NOT get these 2 cartridges confused. Powder charges for the .375 JDJ will most likely overflow th...

Re: 300 GRAIN 375 WINCHESTERS NOW AVAILABLE
The Ruger #3 is as strong as the Ruger #1. So, no real problem with sane loads. I think my load of 54 grains of H4895 with the 225 grain spire point is in the 50,000 range. I think saami specs on the .375 JDJ are in the neighborhood of 58,000 to 60,000. So, still plenty of room for improvement. I ha...

Re: 300 GRAIN 375 WINCHESTERS NOW AVAILABLE
Howdy Eagles, H4895 is a good powder for the .375 JDJ, as is Varget and RL-15. I am currently using 54 grains of H4895 with the 225 grain bullet from Hornady. That is 2.3 grains over what Hornady lists as tops for the t/c contender. My load shows no high pressure signs. Primers look great and extrac...

If they will make that bullet available as a component bullet, I would like to have some for my .375 JDJ #3 Ruger that has #1 wood on it. Plus 1.5x5 Leupold scope. For right now I just shoot the 225 Hornady spire point at about 2425 ft/sec. Could probably load that 300 grain bullet to about 2100 to ...
