I've never heard of any hogs being in any of those states, unless in a farmers pen(or maybe an obscure contained hunting ranch). I'm positive there aren't any wild or introduced hogs in any of those states. I doubt any of the game and fish departments have ever allowed introduction.

I've never been able to get comfortable with a crescent butt, particularly with anything fairly powerful. I had the crescent cut off my Browning 1886 rifle and had a flat pad put on it. Finally found a shotgun butt for it. Some of the 94 commemoratives had pretty open crescents, and weren't too bad....

I see no difference in what you use for defense. Defense is dependant on someone else opening the ball, and intending you or someone else harm. Whatever you use to stop that attack, it's a defensive tool.

They are NOT stable. I had a Navy Arms .22 1866 carbine that was done that way. A good bump would have the windage off. It was frustrating because you generally werent aware of the problem until it showed up shooting at game.

Interesting information Wes. The Partitions I used in the 338 were very nasty even on deer. LOTS of bloodshot meat. They obviously opened up. I havent used any of the 35 Partitions yet. I may try the Hornady 250's. I have a box or two. Were you getting exits on elk with the Hornady's?

I agree, Cabelas prices are high. 10 years ago they were pretty decent. I stop in when travelling by, but rarely buy anything unless it's seasonal clothes and on sale. You can find about any shooting related stuff for less than they sell for.
