My seven year old son recently told his grandma that he doesn't do anything his dad doesn't do.
I'm leaving as much of a legacy as I can.

He seems like a smart guy, smart enough to know that he would get caught, which begs the question: did he do it (get caught) on purpose? Was this a case of self abuse? Of course he was arrogant, but we're talking years of this activity and tens of thousands of dollars. He had to know he would get ca...

If I'm lucky I'll drink whisky (Jack, usually) twice a year: deer camp and elk camp. I say lucky because we have a tradition where the bottle comes out only if we get meat on the ground and only after the guns are put up for the night. We'll have beer with dinner but again, only when the guns are pu...

OT Die Broke
I don't want to hijack the retirement topic so I'm posting a new thread. For those of us who need money to live I recommend the book Die Broke by Stephen Pollan and Mark Levine (1998, I think). The point of the book is that financial rules have changed in the last 50 years and we need to change with...

Can't urge younger guys enough to work hard at getting your mortgage paid off as quick as possible. It frees you up to save money, and accumulate a few things that make retirement more enjoyable. .
