Re: OT- Texas Ranger Items I really enjoy.

I have several photos taken from the museum and will go there one day my self, One of my most favortie summers was the one spent learning at the hands of Col.Askins while we lived in Texas, one afternoon on the range I had the honor of being taught and kind of shown off by 3 Rangers whom where his f...

Re: OT: Concealed carry vest.

A vest can work for you some of the time, I wear one during the day on a college campus, hang my keys on the "d" ring and carry my spare glasses in another pocket cut for rifle mags, every one who has shown a concern all ways ask "why the fishing vest" Other than that I rely on t...

Re: Texas Rangers with Trapper and Thompson. Old Photo

The old boys I knew back in the 60's told me that they where appointed directly by the Governor at the time. Believe thats why and maybe read it that Hamer moved on when he did just before the Bonnie and Clyde thing, I think its in one of the books on the Rangers that it mentions once the Troopers w...

Re: OT: Pair of 16 bore Howdah pistols with rifled barrels

Re: Hawes 44 magnum SAA Western Marshall

Some of the early Hawes models where made by Sauer, we had several on the farm in either 45 colt or 357 mag, decent guns for the price, couldn't afford the Colt's at that time

Re: Texas Rangers have their Winchester 1995s cut down.

The museum is a great place to visit, growing up in Corpus Christi, got to know a couple of old time Rangers thru the old man,and Col.Askins,, both them ole boys had 95's with 18" bbl's but they where in 30-40krag, both told me that in its day the Arizona Rangers favorite rifle was the 30-40 95

Re: OT- Texas Rangers vs General Patton.

Wouldn't have made a nickles difference , I was trained by Mr.Bryce and Col.Askins, and them Ole boys where hard cobs and wouldn't back down from any thing,Patton was the same,as was Hamer. It would have been a node and a by your leave. Could have been great fun though to stand there and watch :mrgr...

Re: Puma 92 – Rebuild

Have to say the 16" er is slick,, My all time favorite truck gun is an early 16" 357 carbine model, I had a smith mount a scout scope base on it, installed a tang peep and open then wrapped the lever, its just a little larger than norm, not quit as large as a glove loop. Mounted first a sh...
