Re: .38 Special in a Rossi Model 92?
I shoot a lot of .38's in my Rossi's and my bullet of choice is the Lee 125 RF. I load that over 4.2 Bullseye or 4.9 /231 which gives approx 1200fps. In mag cases I use 4.5 Bullseye or 5.3/231. The Lee 120TC (9MM bullet)also works well and is as accurate as the RNFP. A quick and easy way to clean a ...

Re: So, Lookin' at 357mag Levergun Plinkin' Loads With Lil'Gun
I'm not sure Lil Gun is a good idea if you want to go slower. If you want a nice comfortable accurate plinker look no further than a 125 rnfp and 4.5-5 grs of Bullseye. That will give you 1250- 1300 fps and sub 3moa accuracy@100 yds out of your Rossi. Why would you want to use 14-16 grs of powder to...

Bullseye at 4.0 grs give you the 1000 fps with a 158 rnfp with excellent uniform ballistics and excellent accuracy. Extreme shot to shot spread of less than 30 fps and single digit SD's. I have shot thousands of these out of my Rossi's.

They are very dependable old guns, essentially Browning A5's. I bought one a year ago for $150. but cosmetically it was rough. The sound of an A5 bolt slamming home has a nice solid ring to it unlike the "clickity-clack" of most other auto shotguns. My first Lab was a hunting/retrieving maniac, she loved to hunt. When I would snap the bolt shut on my A5 that dog was by my side right now!

IMO the Grabber is just as fast as the 9000 when you add in the time to box the ammo up. They are both good machines. When I take the shell off my Grabber I place it in the mec boxing tool and when it's full I put the shells in the box.

#1. The sight is no problem. #2. You may not need a gunsmith to mount a red dot sight. If that is a newer round barrel (not octagon) Rossi the barrel is already drilled and tapped for a scope mount under the rear barrel sight. If that is the case you can purchase a mount that fits those holes at NOE...

When you purchase ear protection the most important thing to look for is how much they attenuate (decrease) noise. Muff type for pistols should at least attenuate 30 db. In fact for pistols ear plugs and muff types are probably the best. I worked as an aircraft mechanic starting in the late 60"...

I do it quite often. Easiest way is to have your big propane bottle warm(in the sun etc) and put your little ones in the freezer for about an hour. For me it would be the Rossi. Both of my Braztec Rossi .357's have north of 5k trouble free rounds through them. Last thing I'd worry about is durability. Nothing wrong with 30-30's but IMO .357 in a rifle is a way more versatile cartridge.
