Now, let's be fair, YK. All the women you mention are fairly old, and age doesn't do many people much good as far as looks are concerned. Streisand looked fine in her prime. Clinton wasn't bad looking as a younger gal either, but she, like Thomas & Reno are carrying too much weight and make-up t...

I recall Bunker C is the bottom of the barrel. In poking around the web, it seems "bunker" fuel is anything burned on a ship, which includes common diesel fuel. The comment on these big two strokes lacking rod ends sounds familiar, but I find it hard to imagine. Were an exhaust valve to fa...

Re: 38-56 Improved (.375/45-70)
I understand the Marlin 336/675/444/1895 action can handle 52,000 CUP, which equates to anywhere from 55k to 65k psi. I recall Hodgdon's data puts the current 1895 Marlins at 40,000 CUP, call it mid 40s true pressure. As the case size decreases, you can increase the pressure for a given breech thru...

Re: 38-56 Improved (.375/45-70)
Blowing out the .38-56 increases case capacity from about 63 gn of water to about 72 gn. This is an increase of 14%, and at like pressures you'll be able to get about 3.5% more velocity. At 40,000 PSI, you can get about 2100 fps from a standard .38-56, so you're looking at about 2200 fps with the bl...

Being a shrunken 99, I'd have bought one of their .44 Mags if they weren't so ugly. I didn't care for the carbine styling, and the bulge over the magazine for mounting a scope was ungraceful. If they had made a rifle version with a flat top and decent wood, there'd be one in my rack right now.

Uberti would be my first choice, given their current line-up.
Pedersoli could keep me happy.
I wouldn't cry if Ruger was the only one. The SP-101 and No.1 handle most of my needs, but bringing back the 99/44 would help, especially if they tidied up the receiver.

The chronograph also gives a crude check on pressures. If your fps is over that in your load book, your pressures most likely are as well. Yes, when velocities have exceeded the BP "envelope" so have pressures. I can't agree with this statement. To get a given velocity, BP needs a charge which weighs more. This extra weight of charge is -- as far as the gases doing the pushing are concerned -- equivalent to a heavier bullet ...

Interesting revolver. Certainly, many production DA pulls could use a lot of improvement. I look forward to more information on them. I can't say I have a hankering for one. I'd like to see them bring out a Bearcat with a bit more oomph, even a .32 ACP would be nice.
