nice looking rig you have johnny both gun and rig. here's a pic of my 16" shortie of the marlin flavor in 45. i think these were a run of 500 for the ohio gun collectors assoc.

Re: this 1 got away win. 55
sorry for your loss. hate it when your gun poor and something nice pops up. my memory is terrible but later didn't winchester run or mix the 55's serial numbers in with the 94's?

Re: fun today....
thanks for all the complements. i haven't had the gun analized by my local winchester autority yet but it has a few things i wonder about. the wood seems better than standard grade. it has this little carbine style rear sight with two leafs and a roll up sight. kinda like a carbine express sight. th...

3 months ago went to a gun auction and picked up a winchester 94 in 32-40. the gun is in very nice shape for a 1911. first the local hunt for brass, well the best i could come up with is john wayne loaded ammo. i don't care for nickel brass nor paying for loaded ammo. well ended up paying the long d...

Re: Model 64 value?
i would pass, your $500 will go a long way towards a better one. on a good day you can find a decent 64 for $800-$950 (i think, haven't looked in a while). i guess if you like to tinker go for it but parts and time are not cheap either. i usually hold out for the better original guns, seems worth it...

the 37 was my first deer gun here in shotgun NY. ithica is an hour away so a lot of ithicas were used around here. two fold, great guns and local support. i have an 87 20 ga as well, just wish it had been still made in ithica. as true with a lot of the gun company's got into financial trouble along ...

94 winchester compass?
a local gun shop has a 1920's 94 saddle ring carbine in 32special. overall condition of the gun is pretty good BUT there is about a 7/16" hole in the left side of the buttstock. i know it once held a compass probably. the owner of the shop states that winchester sold some gun compass' for after...
