Re: OT- The oath of enlistment

I don't like the sound of that. I took the same oath as you did years ago. It really sunk in when I recited those words, that I was enlisting for a reason other than getting some schooling and a job. They did mean something to me, more than signing the contract did. I'm sure somewhere along the line...

I load for one and it also shoots 180's. My friend who owns it had a bunch of IMR 4831, so that's what we used and it shoots great (for open sights). We did a group buy on 180 grain Corlokt's and used 58 grains of IMR4831. Pretty stout load. You wouldn't want to go shoot prairie dogs all day with it...

Just got my new (to me) BLR from MtnGun (who is a good guy to deal with by the way) and mounted a scope on it last night. All I had that wasn't on a rifle already was a 2.5X Leupold so that went on. It sure is a pretty little rifle and has a real good trigger for a BLR (it had some work done on it)....

I've been reading this with interest and finally have to put my two bits in. With my old 45-70 I've shot a couple truck loads of deer, elk and antelope. What I've found on the deer/antelope is that if you shoot the 400gr + bullets (I don't care if it's hardcast or not) behind the shoulder you'll fin...
