Re: watch your six gentlemen
The old saying, "Out of sight, out of mind" applies for a lot of things in cars. If criminals see something valuable they'll often do a smash and grab by breaking a window and getting as much as they can in one hit. On our recent trek to the Colorado gun show I laid down 1/3rd of my backse...

Glad you made it through without any harm. Hope the victim recovers also, and can maybe help the police catch the shooter.
I personally would probably figure some way to coverup the newly purchased supplies so they're not so visible and tempting to snatch and grab criminals.

Thanks guys. I was pretty surprised to see it on a table at the CGCA show, but if one could show up that's one show it would happen at. I've seen 4or 5 Pope barreled Rolling Block target pistols, and a friend has one that's documented as being used in the Olympics by a member of the US team. The Hub...

Of course I dread the "one gun, or one cartridge" discussions. But if I was forced to only have one cartridge it would be the .30-06 cartridge. The .22LR would be second simply because it's not much good for defense, or even medium sized game.

Of course my Ballard rifles in .22RF are all my favorite rifles.

We did the 2 day drive to Greeley, Co. for the CGCA collector gun show this weekend! I told myself I wasn't buying anything, but that usually jinxes the plan! Walking around is the mistake as I found another Model 1891 Remington target pistol to go with my A.Hubalek Rolling Block Model 1891! This on...

I really like the feel of a crossdraw holster for carrying, but it is limited by clothing you wear. It either requires a jacket or shirt untucked to cover it and if it's summer it's not easy for me to do either. I'm usually in a Tee shirt in the summer, so then my carry gun position is inside the wa...

I suspect accuracy out past 10-15 yds. with that stubby little bullet is dismal at best. I'll use a .38 Special or 9mm with that weight bullet before neutering my .45 Colt with it. No reason to push a tiny bullet that fast for self defense work.

The .44 Special is a neat old cartridge, and I prefer it much over the .44 Magnum. But I never saw it as any better or much different to the .45 Colt, so I've always leaned towards the .45 Colt in handguns myself.

The LED voltage is usually only 6-7 VDC, so the circuitry cuts down the AC voltage, plus converts it to DC. Operating at such low voltage already, any low voltage on the AC 120v. side can cause them to drop out as only certain LED lights are dimmable, and others simply flicker or drop out. Too bad t...

First thing you need to do is to check voltage at the main leads in your service panel. If you have the same readings at those incoming leads then the issue isn't in your electrical service, it's at the power supplied by your utility. Once you determine the issue is on the utility end you need to ca...
