Re: Reloading for BLR

I've reloaded for my BLR in 358 Win for over a decade and have only used the standard Lee dies. I've not had a problem yet and really don't expect any.

The only rifle I've ever had that might have benefited from small base dies was a Rem 760 in 300 Savage.

My FIL said they had Winchester 30-30s on the icebreaker he was on during WWII but I don't remember the name of the ship. He was a machinist and had to make replacement parts occasionally for them.

Mine tend to be mounted pretty far back but then, I'm short (~5'6" with comparable arm length). What works for me, sure doesn't work for Junior, who at over 6' can't shoot my rifles without sliding the scope forward which is why he has only a few options when it comes to shooting my rifles.

I bought a blued Rossi model 68 back in 1997 and carry it often. It's been completely reliable and accurate enough for what it's intended for. The only flaw, if you could call it that, is the serrated trigger. It's hard on the trigger finger at the range, especially on extended visits. Otherwise, I ...

In a hunting rifle, there is no discernible difference. Given the same attention to detail in a hunting rifle, a 30-06 can be just as accurate as a 308. Ask Cooper Firearms or NULA if they have any trouble making an accurate 30-06. Case prep and loading details will have a larger influence on cartri...
