I don't shoot factory ammo but a buddy of mine down in the Carolinas hunts boars with a Rossi 92 in 357 all of the time. I believe he uses 180gr Remington softpoints. I'll check with him to be sure but in his photos there were always exit wounds. Hope this helps,

I shoot a brick/brick and a half of .22 ammo a week, about 90% go through handguns. 50-100 rounds of 44 Special and 41 mag, probably another 100 rounds of assorted rifle ammo. Keeps me busy reloading but I don't have a TV so I don't have much else to do in the evening.

Trapdoors are about as addictive as leverguns. I have an original model 1884 that was my grandfathers. I took a whitetail doe with it when I was 13 (blackpowder and a 330gr. Gould hollowpoint). If I ever come across one of those Officers Models you better believe it'd be coming home with me.

I have some 170 grainers that came out of an old Ideal mold. They work great in my 32 Special, just crimp on one of the driving bands. I keep a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 in my truck (regular cab so it lives behind the seat out of sight). I got the thing for $50 at a pawn shop and if it gets stolen with the truck, no real loss. It's surprisingly accurate and plenty powerful for anything in the Upper Peninsula.

The shotgun I rely on is an old Ithaca 37 with a 20" tube and tritium front dot. It did the same service for my Grandfather for several decades (minus the tritium dot). It might not be "cool" or "fashionable" but I have total faith in it and in my ability to use it. Eric P.S...

Definitely buy it! Great rifles in an even better cartridge. My best friend and I both got M96s and they shoot great with a variety of jacketed as well as cast bullets. I wouldn't hesitate to use that rifle on any creature in N. America save the big bears in Alaska (with the proper heavy bullet). Eric

My first shotgun was a fox 410 SXS. I've been partial to SXS's ever since. I'd say go the 20 ga route in CZ. I don't own one but I've shot a couple and they are awful nice. Hope this helps,

Two of my 32s really like 30 grs. of IMR 3031 under the 170 gr. jacketed bullets. Another really likes 33 grs of IMR 4895 under the same. A load that is also interesting is 9 grs. of Unique under just about any cast bullet of proper size. This load is real light, no recoil to speak of, great for kid...

I've seen the traditional trapper model, very nice rifle with a great finish and the wood fit very well. I saw it a show and the lever was zip tied so I didn't get to feel the action unfortunately. That stainless job would be just the ticket for nasty weather though.
