Re: Any Ruger #3 375 Winchester Shooters ?

I wish I had a #3 in 375! My cousin had one. I'm not aware of any particular issues with the #3. My Big Bore always did very well with Lyman #375248 and 25 grs. of 4227. I recall my cousin's rifle shooting these quite well but it was about 10 years ago. It's a gun (and cartridge) I regret letting ge...

Re: Rust and vehicles......

I got a little Dodge Dakota from New Mexico a few years ago and the metal was perfect. To keep it that way I painted every exposed piece of sheetmetal in the undercarriage with truck bedliner that I thinned a bit. I also did the frame rails. 7 years later the truck still has no signs of rust. Eric

They're comparable to the 1848/49. You might want to look at the Colt 1862, it's a 5 shot .36 with the Navy/SAA gripframe. There's two versions of it, one looks like a '51 Navy and the other looks like a little '60 Army. http://www.dixiegunworks.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_92_187_189&products_...

I have an older stainless model 92 in 357. It mainly gets fed lyman 358429 (or the HP version) in 38 Special cases. It does feed the Thompson bullet and Lee 358-158-RF in magnum brass, 358429 is too long for magnum brass. The only jacketed bullet I've shot is the Remington 180 gr in magnum brass and...

I have the plain R1 but have added an ambi safety to it (south paw here). It's a great gun, especially considering the price. I've shot a Hepburn a couple of times. The black comes from your bore solvent (Hoppe's or whatever) reacting with the bronze or copper bore brush. If you take a perfectly clean bore and run a solvent soaked bronze brush through it the next patches will be black. I only use a brush (or chore boy) if I have leading to deal with.
