1886 Winchester rear sight.
In which direction should the rear sight of an '86 Winchester be driven out for removal or does it matter?
Also, any ideas on freeing up the little insert in the rear sight? It is very delicate and I do not want to damage it.

Thanks, Will try a new extractor. Funny thing though, The extractor seems to grip the case well and pull it most of the way to the rear. The case then just seems to fall out from under the extractor before it reaches the ejector. Since this is an old gun (50's), the extractor must have lost some of ...

Marlin 336A ejection problem.
My Marlin 336A either fails to eject or ejects the empty case weakly. Normally it falls back down in the action on top of the carrier. I tried a new ejector spring to no avail.
