Re: Winchester Legendary Lawman receiver discoloration
Those sintered steel frames can be black oxide coated Brownells Oxynate 84 was especially for this. Winchester tried to plate them with iron then blue. And boy that plating was thin, thin, thin! I had one that I just used a little bit of rust remover and it just wiped the plating off. That Brownell...

I did upgrade my Blackhawk rear sight to the Bowen NM Field Sight. I never really thought about rear sights fixed vs adjustable. Just whatever came on the sidearm. If adjustable I often upgrade.
Gonna try the blue paint though.

I never really wanted to deal with all the paperwork, let alone the cost. About the only sbr type thing Id really be interested in is a shoulder stocked SA revolver, and the reporting to travel interstate with it takes some of the wind out of the sails. If suppressors became totally unregulated and...

I always wondered about the penetration of Winchester White box flat point fmj.

Should I?
Sure have missed that girl.

35 whelen ? My guess too. Lots of load data available. As long they’re a couple thou over bore diameter and the barrel is free of constrictions and not bell mouthed (muzzle diameter larger than breech) you can run them well past 1400 fps. The part I can’t un-see is the giant waffle shaped steel outside pieces falling and never hitting the ground. Just turned to dust while falling. Turned into dust.
I don’t need anything more. Someone has the power to disintegrate steel at scale.

I think an off balance bullet has just as much if not more affect on precision than time of flight. I think John Barsness has written of that in one of his Gun Gack books (excellent reading by the way). This from The Art Of Bullet Casting From Handloader and Rifle magazines, 1966-1981 IMG_1330.jpeg

Texas requires trailer brakes at 4500 # total trailer weight. I have a trailer that weights 1500# curb weight (tare), it has a brake axle on it but I have not added the sending unit to my vehicle.
