Welcome from currently North Central AZ. I pass through your area a few times a year, running to the farm in Delta Junction. Most of my lever guns are large bore due to the locals up there.

Re: Pump shotguns; I’m a fan but I agree with Honest Outlaw…
I agree that the Semi-autos have surpassed the pumps. I have used 870s from the 60s on, but some autos are more reliable. I have two, one combat and one multi-use, that never fail. The combat gun is a box magazine-fed Russian 12 Ga and is better than my MP-5 out to 150 yards without the newer 12 Ga...

I have modified a couple, only one with a hand guard on a Rossi. I put a suppressor on to walk the dogs. I have Cerakoted a few to keep them from corroding due to the weather conditions. Fired testing a SIG 716 in .308 this year with 150 NAS Steel case ammo.
3/4 of an inch with me pulling one. This is where I pulled one with my M-21 ( I guess at almost 70), I don't shoot as well as I used to.

I agree with the 'shoot it and see' approach. But as it is a new firearm contact, customer service first, and see what they say. Then, if you don't like the groups, you can try the barrel break-in process or Fire Lapping.
