I have a 92 Miroku and recently had Turnbull do the half cock safety conversion. Thye were suppose to lighten the trigger with a Wolf Hammer spring I included .It came back working like the old originals but the trigger is way past 6 lbs on my scale. SO, what needs to be done here- new lighter hamme...

Re: 45lc 1892 COL maximum --anyone?
Well I shortened up the brass from 1.275 to 1.265 for a total COL of 1.635 and this cycles flawlessly using the 300gr hornady XTP bullets which are very accurate and stout with Lil gun charged 22gr for 1640fps velocity. So now my final problem is how do I get that 7lb plus trigger pull lowered. Turn...

Re: 45lc 1892 COL maximum --anyone?
Mine loves the 300 grain Hornady XTPs and so with the case cut to 1.275 the COL comes out at 1.653" which is about .015" too long for clearance. Rather than mess with the carrier wouldl I be ok to just shorten the cases a little bit more to say 1.260" . OR would there be a large press...

45lc 1892 COL maximum --anyone?
I have a Winchester Miroku 1892 rifle in 45LC and reload for that caliber. Depending on the bullets used the COL can vary some .I noticed when I go over 1.635" overall length they hangup in the feeding staying stuck at the bottom and not clearing the front edge to angle up on the ramp. I had so...

Skinner web site shows the model Winchester 94AE with a skinner top mounted reciever sight but when I asked if it would fit the Win 1892 they didnt know. Wondering if anyone has tried it.They do make one for 1886 but thats a larger sized reciever.

Buffalo Bore makes a stout +P load for ruger pistols and any modern 1892 rifles that shoot 1700fps out of rifles. The bullet looks like its a Speer 300gr JFN BUT the diameter is .451 .My Winchester Miroku barrel is most probably a .452. Should I expect poor groups?

I want to get at least 1600-1700 fps so I dont have too much rise and fall out to say 125yds. My rifle is the Miroku /Winchester long rifle 1892 . Ive had excellent groups at 50 yds with lowe...

took a look at the elevation steps and they are angled upward against the rear sight blade so thats a good thing I think. But the tension from the sight body was not good enough and so I bent it downward some more. See if this holds up. But it sure is cheapy .

a 357 mag colt SAA or New Frontier can shoot those loads all day long. They are plenty strong.American Eagle is darn good ammo and not too expensive either.158gr at 1200 or more will easily do the trick on deer provided its in the boiler.
