Looking at the Rossi catalog I see that every 92 they make has a 1:30 twist rate. I'm pretty sure the loads I'd choose would be tumbling out of those barrels. My 325g cast tumbles out of the Marlin 1:38 barrel. Steve, do you know the Browning twist rate? It's probably pretty slow too. What were the ...

Old Ironsights, So, if I understand you correctly, you must think clinton is a big hero and a highly moral human being because he refused to apprehend binladen when the sudanese offered him up. At least twice. And clinton's position is compounded in your eyes when our guys had him in their sights an...

KILLING ENEMY COMBATANTS IS NOT GENOCIDE. I AM WILLING TO SEE AMERICA'S MORTAL ENEMIES DESTROYED. You throw around the word genocide pretty easily. OI, So, if I understand you correctly you advise Americans to wait until seven cities are nuked. Then you will feel enough moral energy to, uh, do what? OI, did you read the document I linked? Where do we stop? We stop when all the muslims who are trying to destroy our country and western civilization are dead, or they genuinely give up. It is not an illegal war. Regardless what you say, you're wrong. IT IS NOT AN ILLEGAL WAR. I don't care who you hate, but you're blinded by it and irrational. Sometimes a Man (or Country) has to be willing to suck up the first punch to maintain the High Ground. Bush should be in a prison for the criminally insane. September 11 ring a bell? Hello? What Joe said. My .44 cast are sized .432. I would be wary about using steel wool. That's what I use to polish parts, I wouldn't want to polish the edges off the lands. Maybe bronze wool would be better, harder than lead, softer than steel. I don't get much leading and it doesn't build up or cake th...

The Bible also tells us to test the spirits. The one Blaine is asking about failed the test. How? By claiming that someone can work off or pay for or atone for his sins. That's a lie. This is heresy. This is blasphemy. This is an old idea but it IS NOT POSSIBLE for a sinful being to atone for his si...

Nice job Sixgun Do you have a velocity and pressure number for the 400g+Unique load? Seems like a candidate for the 425g cast I shoot. Thanks, Grizz Grizz, the 11 grains of Unique with a 350-450 gr. bullet will run just about 1050 +/- 50 fps, according to bullet weight. It is below the speed of sou...

My Springer sheds like crazy, but not all Spaniels do. I love the breed and probably get an English Cocker someday. My sister's Amercian Cocker doesn't shed at all. You can hunt cockers just like springers. The spaniels are active and don't do well cooped up. Most of the terriers I've seen are frene...

Thanks for the links Talon, I'll check out the AZ guy. Guys, I haven't committed to doing this. Yet. I'm just tire kicking the idea around right now. I can save a bunch by dovetailing the barrel for the front sight. That's easy enough to do if the barrel is indexed properly. Has anyone seen barrel b...

Levergun modification
I've been thinking again. Yeah I know. Thinking about having an octagonal barrel installed on my Marlin GS. It would be 16.125" with a custom barrel band to replace the endcap/hanger configuration. I'd mark the barrel 45/70. I'd have the front sight dovetailed in the barrel directly. No rear si...

Some people have some success with 300g 44 mags in carbines, but mine won't shoot 320s, they tumble. Plus the Marlins need a little tweaking to get longer carts to feed. Marlin uses a very slow twist in the 44 mag barrel that is designed to stabilize 240g bullets. Folks report good results with bull...
