Picked up my 1894C in .357 yesterday
Got it off GunBroker and picked it up from my local FFL. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but my first impressions when I took it out of the box was "it's certainly a cute little fellow". It was much smaller than I thought it would be and I may have to add a spacer under the recoil pa...

Must-have book for beginner to reloading?
What book(s) would you recommend for a newbie to reloading? I'm getting ready to place an Amazon order and thought I'd start reading up on the subject before I start purchasing equipment.

I just sold that exact rifle a few weeks ago. It was the most accurate rifle I've ever had, but was just too heavy for me to hunt with. I purchased it mainly to get set up to shoot F-class, but lost interest in it and I've already got a .270 as my deer rifle. It shot Cabela's bulk 75 gr. ammo. the b...

Gents, I will eventually get into reloading, and I guess what I was trying to say is that my 2 yr. old practically consumes my life right now rather than bothering my stuff. I have very little free time to pick up yet another hobby. Add to that that I'm building a house for which I'm the general con...

1894C .357 shooters - need some guidance, please
I have a Marlin 1894C in .357 on order and am getting ready to buy some ammo for it. I've got some Cabela's gift cert. that I'd like to use and they have 2 offerings of their bulk .357 Mag. ammo, 158gr. semi-wadcutter and 158gr. jacketed hollowpoint. Which would likely be best for me to go with? If ...

Silhouette shooting - guidance?
Can someone point me to somewhere that I can find some info. on the "silhouette" shooting that I keep seeing references to? Stuff such as: what is it? where do I shoot?, etc.
Thanks in advance.

.243 w/ 20" barrel on BLR?
Most .243's in other actions (bolt and semi-auto) have 22" barrels. What would I lose by going with a 20" barrel that's available in the Browning BLR? Will the muzzle blast be noticeably worse from the shorter barrel? It's bad enough on a longer barrel, in my opinion. How about trajectory ...

Notice the pic where he's in velvet. There is a tag in his ear. That doesn't necessarily mean he was/is raised in a pen or high fence. I've hunted S. Texas once before myself and this is how it works. Most of the ranches have thousands of acres...the ranch I hunted on had close to 50K if I remember...

Some might call it a lever but most would call it a bolt handle. It's a lever too. Browning A-Bolt I shoot one of those A-Bolts, too....in .270. It wears a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 w/ Z-Plex reticle. Out to 300 yards the 9 power is fine for deer. If I were shooting varmints much past that, I'd p...

Anyone shooting the "newer" Browning BLR's?
The "newer" ones meaning the latest ones with the aluminum receiver.
