A fellow I worked with about 25 years ago killed a " piebald " doe. Colored up like a Pinto horse with more white than brown. I wish I had a picture of it to show.

Well done, Flint! Very nice rifle, too! I have a Model 150 lever action and the 190 semi-auto that has the lite colored stocks ( maybe birch?). but my 270 pump has the darker color (maybe walnut?). Good shooting guns.

Nice brace of squirrel there! Did they have many fleas on them? I like to wait until after the first frost to cut down on fleas and copperheads. I never understood why my Grandpa wouldn't go hunting until it frosted until I shot a few squirrels one hot day and they were all covered in fleas. JBowen

Those Texas Stars are fun. I used to shoot CAS 2000 -2004 and would get to shoot one occasionally. I cleaned it with five shots with my Uberti 73 carbine in .45 Colt nearly every time. With my revolvers I seldom ever cleaned it. It would be fun to own one.

I grew up hunting and eating squirrels much like Drawdown. We used shotguns when we went to the Mountains to get Grays. They were fast and hardly ever sat still. Some years you could catch them in migration and have your limit of 8 in less than an hour. The years that there were no acorns or hickory...

I have only seen one or two. They were outrageously priced. I have an empty slot in my Winchester collection if one ever becomes available at a reasonable price. I really enjoy my 9422 and 9422M and one of those would fit right in.
Glad you were able to get one.
