Scott have you tried those bullets over Longshot? I need to chronograph the load, but Longshot and the 385gr HP from the MP mould is proving to be quite accurate and not as peppy as my HS6 loads.

Here 90 miles North of the West Texas City of El Paso, it's been raining since yesterday, we don't often get free water, so despite cancelling my 38-40 test it is a blessing. Looks like 1-3" of the white fluffy stuff tonight and temps in the mid teens come Sunday night, a bit brisk for this nec...

Thanks Shasta, I haven't purchased any moulds from Accurate under the new owner, but haven't heard anything negative. The smaller meplat must be a real boon at those longer shooting distances!

That's a good looking bullet Shasta. I worry about the meplat on these 180s being an issue in a levergun.

I powder coated these, then lubed them with my RCBS lubrisizer, loaded them in Starline brass over 18.3gr of 2400, lit by a Federal 150 primer. Average velocity was 1394 for 5 shots, need to trim my brass to even them up, see if I can't get the SD down. Group shot offhand at 25 yards was right at 3&...

New 45 caliber bullet mould.
Finally broke in the last NOE mould I purchased as Al was shutting down and retiring. It's a 45 caliber SWC, they drop at 247 grains, and I sized them to .452. It's not a Keith bullet as the bands are not of equal width. Loaded dummy rounds feed slick as butter through the Marlin. Hope to shoot some...

One thing about the 38-40 in a Blackhawk, recoil is almost nonexistent. I can push them harder, but hard to argue with a 40 caliber 190gr bullet at 940 fps.

I use a rotary tumbler wet with SS pins, I love how clean it gets the primer pockets. My fear is that the pins will peen the thin case necks and mouths. Anyone else tumble 32-20 brass?

I'm just curious if all Marlin 45 Colt chambers are so generous? Accurate rifle I picked up earlier this year, but boy howdy my brass has a bulge ahead of the rim that makes me seem skinny.
