Re: 32-20 Stevens

Thanks Gents for the replies. I'll pretty sure is a 32-20 Stevens Straight wall cartridge. I would love it to be .32WCF. What was your reloading sequence in loading the 25-20 Stevens? RCBS has everything if you can afford it. Looks like I'll have to cast the chamber.

32-20 Stevens

Been gone a long time. Life does that to ya. Has anybody reloaded for the 25-20 and 32-20 Stevens cartridges? I've got the brass but no dies. I aim to shoot black powder loads. Anybody got a set they would part with?

Thanks

Re: 1892 Winchester question

Definitely not worth 2K. It has seen its better days. But it is 32WCF and one of my favorite calibers if not my favorite. Not really nice enough to get lettered. It will make a fine knockabout rifle.

Re: 1892 Winchester question

The reason I thought of it as a short rifle is that it does not have a carbine butt or sights. Kinda rough with a so so bore but it shoots better than me. It could be that someone cut it down years ago. Not that experienced with collecting just shooting them.

1892 Winchester question

I picked up an old 92 Winchester at an auction that has a 20"bbl and not a button mag but a mag that extends about 3 1/2" past the forearm cap. The barrel is 20" octagon. It was made in 1906. Has anyone heard of a 1892 Winchester short rifle like the 1894 and Marlin 1893?

Re: OT - AWA=American Western Arms 45 Colt

I don't know Art Lee but I've got 2 AWAs and have had no problems. They made a couple of different models. Ultra Ivory is real close to look and feel of real ivory but about half the price. I have one pair and several real ivory and you have to look real hard to tell the difference. That is with old...

Were all the M53 Winchesters serial numbered with the M92? I've got a 5 digit sn on a M53. sn 10XXX. Any help appreciated.

favorite 32wcf

I hereby stand and admit it. 32WCF is my most funnest caliber. I have several different variation on Winny 92s and a few Marlins. Oh yea, a couple of Colts and Uberti SAA. I think my favorite is my Marlin 27s.

Winchester 74

Thanks guys for all the help. Being new to this I didn't know to post OT on a different subject other than lever guns. This rifle is like new so I don't think I will be drilling any holes in it.

Thanks,

Yes, I cleaned the whole thing when I first got it. I will look at the extracter again. OD, mine has a larger hole in the stock to load to. Is that common? 1.5" groups at 50 yds. with my old eyes and shaky hands. I love it.

OT - Winchester 74

I got a model 74 for Christmas and had to go shoot it that day. It wants to smokestack an empty case 60% of the time. It was made in 1941 I think. Using Federal high speed ammo. Any thoughts.
