Buy a Super Comanche .410/.45 Colt pistol. About $135, full choke performance out to 25 yards, acceptable accuracy from Rem. non cowboy 250 gr. lead factory loads.

A few manuals ago folks used to specify mag primers with such powders as Unique. I loaded a ton of them and they worked well. I do find max loads should be back off from, however, especially with 2400 and 240 gr. LSWC's in .44 Mag.

I have a gunsmith friend who's adding a .45-70 barrel to a single shot cheap (IJ?) shotgun. I assume you already have the double, but, you might want to consider the single gun route.

I think she would benefit from some light strength training exercises, isometric and light weights. These should be specifically for her hands and arms. It shouldn't take much to get her to the level of being able to cycle a slide and /or pull a good DA trigger.
