One more thing. Walker specifically wanted a pistol big and heavy enough to be used as a club, an important thing when loading was more complicated. Colt designed the pistol with his express interests in mind.

Buy a Super Comanche .410/.45 Colt pistol. About $135, full choke performance out to 25 yards, acceptable accuracy from Rem. non cowboy 250 gr. lead factory loads.
I was given one and think everyone should have one.

Re: Reloading: Mag primers, what can I use them for?
A few manuals ago folks used to specify mag primers with such powders as Unique. I loaded a ton of them and they worked well. I do find max loads should be back off from, however, especially with 2400 and 240 gr. LSWC's in .44 Mag.

Re: 44 SPECIAL USERS - A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS
I have an original Charter Arms Bulldog from the mid-1970's. I've fed it hot loads (250 gr. Fed FJP bullet with good charge of 2400). Shortly broke the transfer bar and returned it to the factory. They replaced the cylinder (which would chamber a .44 mag) and some of the work they did made it less s...

Taurus and Beretta make/did make Lightning replicas. I'm pretty sure both are cheaper (much cheaper, apparently) and possibly better made.
